PRESS RELEASE: Fort Worth, Texas, USA - The Test-It Series™ is released !

"...as simple to use as a "three-button VCR !"

One of the first reviewers said it best,

"This software doesn't force you to become a 'computer weenie'. You push a button with a mouse to choose the type of question you want to make. You type your questions and answers and push some other buttons; the test is created and you can give the test on the computer. Then, it grades itself. Nice !"

Remember the last time that you took a test. It probably was either a "True or False" or "Multiple Choice" test. Most educational, business and licensing groups use standardized test of this type. The Test-It Series™ is a new, PC compatible product to use when the company programmers didn't have the time or resources to create the tools the developer needed!

START: ...

The Test-It Series™ was created to: (1) teach new material, (2) verify competency, (3) pre-screen potential employees, (4) confirm contract compliance, and (5) to pay for itself. It also was created to address "the largest body of testing knowledge available" in a new manner in the computer software industry. It is to be used to adapt all of the current "TRUE/FALSE" and "MULTIPLE CHOICE" tests to computer applications.

STOP:

... Don't learn to be a programmer if you don't need to.

REWIND: ...

Do learn to "computerize" your own test in about 15 minutes. Use "True/False" and "Multiple Choice" questions to make test for usage on most PC's. Create customized tests on any subject that you can think of.

  • Add or delete question at your convenience.
  • Link explanations to each question*.

* - If your client doesn't know the answer, the client can click on the "INFO" button in Study-It™ to see the answers or explanations (if you choose to include reference material when you create or change a test).

Cut-and-paste many video, sound, graphic, or text file formats for clarity (*.avi, *.wav, *.mid, *.bmp, *.gif, *.jpg, *.tif, *.pcx, *.wmf and *.txt).

WHAT IS IT ?

The Test-It Series™ is made up of seven components to computerize "True or False" and "MultipleChoice" tests without a "programmer":

  1. Make-It™ - to create new tests.
  2. Change-It™ - to modify existing tests.
  3. Study-It™ - to review and study tests.
  4. Test-It™ - to administer "self-scoring"tests.
  5. Share-It™ - to make self-executable (*.exe) "test" disks.
  6. Send-It™ - Disk copy program for fast "distribution" disks reproduction.
  7. Readme File - hints for usage and online instructional help.

WHAT IS IT FOR ?

The Test-It Series™ is a toolkit.

Make-It™ was created to (1) allow "you" to transfer tests from a "piece of paper" to a " PC " and then (2) administer it from there. If you find that tests need to be modified, corrected or updated, use the Change-It™ module to (1) modify questions or answers and (2) to add or delete questions or answers. When you are satisfied with your work, Study-It™ is used by your clients to review, study and master the material.

Test-It™ administers the test. As soon as your clients enters an answer to the last question of your test, a summary is automatically created and can be printed or saved to disk. It identifies the name and ID number of your client, the question numbers, the question's text, the answers selected, the correct answers and a "numerical count" and "percentage" grade.

Share-It™ compiles all the required component files (*.tes, *.ldb & *gfx) for your newly created test into a self-installing, executable file for your distribution convience.

Send-It™ Copy program to reduce the old "disk shuffle" when making multiple copies. Use to copy Distribution Disks Set, to give to your clients, which include both the Study-It™ and the Test-It™ Modules so that any test that you create can be administered at your client's location. Your tests and the Distribution Disks Set may be sold, given away, or distributed in any manner you choose as long as it is in compliance with the License Agreement. Your client installs the Distribution Disks Set on their computer once and then can simply install and run any new test you create and send to them. You maintain the control and all contacts with your students, employees or clients. Teachers can install the software in the school's computer lab and have the students "test-out" at their own convience or on a given schedule. Collect the print-outs from the lab attendant.

Educators can now use their time to prepare for classes instead of spending their evenings at home grading test papers.

Your "pop quizes" grade themselves !

HOW CAN I MAKE MONEY ?

Consider supplementing your income by selling your tests to others.

We do not guarantee that you can sell any test that you create.

That being said, the obvious logic is that if you create a good and thorough college freshman history test on a disk for students at ABC College, every student that takes that course in the future, semester after semester, is a potential customer. (The implications of qualifying to the IRS as an "OUTSIDE SALESMAN" alone would probably pay for the cost of the software. Do not accept our word! Check with your tax adviser or attorney!)

After you create an exceptional test, your software license grants you the right to distribute copies of your tests to your clients with a working copy of the Study-It™ and Test-It™ modules. When loaded on another PC, your test will operate independently without Make-It™ or Change-It™. This means that you can (1) distribute, (2) sell or (3) do almost anything that you wish to do with your tests (consider an advertising "give-away" test...). (Remember...your cannot distribute Make-It™ or Change-It™.) If you submit a test to us, and we approve it for our use, we will duplicate up to 25 copies for you for the cost of the 25 disks, freight, and packaging.

Remember, "PUBLISH OR PERISH".

POSSIBILITIES?

Here are just a few of the obvious possibilities of use of the Test-It Series™:

1.

Every typed or written test in the "True/False"and "Multiple Choice" format are potential "NEW TEST" candidates. (Example: Every Elementary, High School, and College History and Math tests.)

2.

Another prime candidate is any test that contains any information that does not change. (Example: "2 + 2 = 5" or "Pick the name of the first human to walk on the moon.")

3.

Build test about your favorite hobby so that a craftsperson's shortcuts or methods will not be lost.

4.

Parents or teachers can create and modify "Home school" test and prepare all study lessons using a "INFO" screen.

5.

Companies can write or create employment test to confirm compliance, exert due diligence or address and reduce discrimination liability.

6.

Companies can create job promotion or job description test to record and document compliance with personnel or human resource processing.

7. Business entities can use this software to create all types of prescreening or project test to:
(1) assure that employees know and are following the rules,
(2) document compliance issues and
(3) certify them.
8. Create trivia test.
9. Create specialty test.
10. Eliminate the wait for an "MIS Dept." employee to change your test. Do it yourself!

FUTURE PLANS ?

PCS's intent is to maintain simplicity of this software. It is extremely "basic" and easy to teach and use. (It is our present intent to sell software, not to compete with your test creations, but we will try to establish distributions channels.)

A. Graphics, Sound and Video:

Certain graphic (*.gif, *.jpg, *.tif, *.bmp, *.pcx, *.wmf), sound (*.wav, *.mid) and video (*.avi) files formats can now be inserted into the "INFO" screen. Our company is in the development cycle to add:

(1) other sound files (.au, and .snd), and
(2) other video files (.mpeg, Acrobat, Quicktime, Video for Windows, etc.)

to the questions within to the "INFO"button. This will provide the ability to paste (1) text, (2) a picture or graphic, (3) a sound file and/or (4) a video file (in a linked field) and attach it to your question for use in the Study-It(tm) module. These features will be added to the next release if the demand is great enough.

B. TestBank(tm):

We are currently in active negotiations to create and establish a "test bank" to archive and make available test of all types in the Test-It(tm) format through a "minimal charge" website for a undetermined charge per tests. No promises yet!
