Make-It Module
This is a module to design and create new
test. Also, it is used to create and design "True or False" and "Multiple Choice"
questions and answers and to add an optional "INFO" screen that is linked to individual
question (to explain why an answer or answers are right or wrong).
SCREEN 1 - LICENSE AGREEMENT:
MENUS:
PRINT - PRINT SCREEN (Ctrl + P); Presents the standard Windows "PRINT" dialog box
and prints the complete screen.
SYSTEM - SETUP (Ctrl + S); Customize the Licensing Agreement screen with your company's
name and city/state or two lines of text and use a password to secure it. Change it as you
deem necessary.
SYSTEM SETUP - SUBSCREEN 1A: Select and enter customized text such as your company's
name on Title Text Line 1 and the city and state that your company is located in on Title
Text Line 2. Initially, select and enter a personal or corporate password to secure the
customized changes to this Licensing Agreement screen in the "System Setup Password" text
block. (Note: You must retype this password again in SCREEN 1B. Remember, this screen is
"case-sensitive", that is, you must type the capital letters and the lower case letters
exactly in SCREEN 1B as you did in SCREEN 1A.); BUTTONS - "OK" and "Cancel".
CONFIRM PASSWORD - SUBSCREEN 1B: Type the password used in SCREEN 1A again to
confirm the correct spelling and entry. BUTTONS - "OK" and "Cancel".
ENTER PASSWORD - SUBSCREEN 1C: If you decide at a later date to modify your
customized text, you must enter the exact password entered in SCREENS 1A and 1B to
gain access again. (For your own safety and peace of mind, please secure this
password, in writing, in a safe place and do not allow random access to it.) When
it is entered correctly, you will be placed in the SYSTEM SETUP screen again.
BUTTONS - "OK" and "Cancel". (NOTE: You may change your password at this time or
you may leave it as it is. If you change the password at this time, you will be
presented with SCREEN 1B again.)
TEXT BOXES:
LICENSE AGREEMENT - This is the Licensing Agreement text that must be read,
agreed to, and complied with by the user in order to legally use this software.
BUTTONS:
AGREE - To legally use this software, the user must (1) scroll through and
read the text completely and (2) agree to the Licensing Agreement by clicking
on the this button.
DISAGREE - If the user refuses to read or to accept and to agree to the
Licensing Agreement, he or she must click on this button. It will close the
software and return the user to the Windows Desktop.
SCREEN 2 - CHOOSE "CREATE NEW TEST" OR "MODIFY AN EXISTING TEST":
CLARIFICATION:
The Make-It and Change-It Module icons are presented on the desktop to
"keep it simple". Both modules are integrated into one set of code. SCREEN 2
is the operational entrance to this set of code.
MENU:
PRINT - PRINT SCREEN (Ctrl + P); Presents the standard Windows "PRINT" dialog
box and prints the complete screen.
BUTTONS:
"I want to create a New test with Make-It". - This button calls up SCREEN 2A.
SUBSCREEN 2A - This is a standard Windows path dialog screen, titled "New Test".
It is used to define the path, name, and extension of a "New" file (with a default
directory of C:\Test\Samples\*.*). You may change this path to meet your requirements.
"I want to modify an Existing test with Change-It". - This button
calls up SCREEN 2B. SUBSCREEN 2B - This is a standard Windows path
dialog screen, titled "Open Test". It is used to (1) define the path,
name, and extension of an "Existing" file and (2) to open the selected
existing test (with a default directory of C:\Test\Samples\*.*). You
may change this path to meet your requirements.
"Exit". - This button returns the user to SCREEN 1.
SCREEN 3 - QUESTION TYPE:
MENU:
PRINT - PRINT SCREEN (Ctrl + P); Presents the standard Windows
"PRINT" dialog box and prints the complete screen.
BUTTONS:
"I want to create a "True/False" question."This button calls up
SCREEN 3A.
"I want to create a "Multiple Choice" question."This button calls
up SCREEN 3B.
SUBSCREEN 3B:This is the screen used to enter all "Multiple
Choice" questions. It has a button called "Multiple Choice" which
calls SUBSCREEN 3B2, TITLED "Multiple Choice Answers". This screen
is used to designate possible multiple choice answers and mark
them as "True" or "False" (for automatic test scoring purposes).
It also has a button titled "INFO" which calls SUBSCREEN 3B3.
This subscreen is used add text to explain why certain answer
options are "True" and others are "False". Exiting SCREEN 3B
returns the user to SCREEN 3 to begin the process again and
choose the next question type.
MENUS:
EDIT.................................Ctrl + E

Copy..................................Ctrl + O
Paste.................................Ctrl + A
Delete................................Ctrl + D
TEST
Test Information.................Ctrl + I NOTE: This button
calls up SUBSCREEN 3B1 (identical to 3A1) , titled "Test
Information" and allows you to enter (1) a 10 character "Test
ID" text statement and (2) a 60 character "Test Description" text
statement. This information will be included on the summary printed
out after a user takes a test. Buttons are "OK" and "Cancel".
PRINT.................................Ctrl + P
Print Screen........................Ctrl + P
TEXT BOX:
Enter the text of a "MULTIPLE CHOICE" question. Do not include a
question number in front of you question. It will be numbered
automatically. An expeditious entry method is to type or paste
the question into the question text box, click "INFO"
button, type or paste in the reference block, click "Exit",
click the "Multiple Choice" button, build answers (clicking on
"Next" after each answer in lieu of "Save") until the user has
reached the last answer entry. Instead of clicking on the "Next"
button after completing the last answer, click on "Save and Exit"
to return directly to SCREEN 3. The user is now ready and in
position to create the next question or to exit.
BUTTONS:
"Multiple Choice" - This button calls SUBSCREEN 3B2,
titled "Multiple Choice Answers". The question number is displayed
in the top left corner of this screen. The first text block
displays the question that the user has entered and can be
scrolled up or down to see any hidden part of the question.
First, click on either the "True" or the "False" button (marked
by the "Select one:" label) to register whether the proposed
answer that the user is about to enter is a correct answer for
this specific multiple choice question. A numerical display in
the form of "current answer number" of "total answers on file for
this question" is located just to the right of these buttons. The
first answer will start as "New of 1" and change to "1 of 1" when
the user enters the first possible answer. Next, enter the
proposed answer in the large text block. (Like all other questions
and answers, this text entry can be as brief or as large as the
user requires. The user can scroll up or down in either to edit
the work.) Finally, click on the "Next" button to automatically
save the answer and move the user to the next blank answer screen.
After the user enters the last Multiple Choice question and its
answers, click on "Save and Exit". This will return the user to
SCREEN 3 to select a "TRUE or FALSE" or to "Exit". (Note:
The user can format as many answers as he wishes. This provides
the flexibility to enter a long list of parts, policy statements,
recipe items, choices, etc. "None of the above" also becomes a
useable answer.) Menus include the standard "Edit" and "Print"
series. Buttons include "True", "False", "Next", "Previous",
"Delete", "Save", "Exit", and "Save and Exit".
"Next" -
If, at present, there are no more question after this
particular question, this button automatically saves both
this particular question and the answer and then returns you
to SCREEN 3.
If, at present, there are already other questions following
this particular question, this button simply moves you to the
next higher numbered question.
"Previous" - A. This button moves you back one question or to the next lower numbered
question if one exist. B. If there are no questions before this one, it will return an
error message.
"INFO" - This button calls SUBSCREEN 3B3, titled "INFO", which is used to enter
information that explains or provides reference data to support the answer. This text
is very important for the Study-It Module when a user is studying the questions
and needs the support of this data. This data is treated in different ways in different
modules. In Make-It and Change-It, this data can be viewed and edited. In
Study-It, this data can be viewed but not edited. In Test-It, this data
cannot be viewed at all. SUBSCREEN 3B3 has the standard "Edit" and "Print" menus and the
"Save and Exit" and "Exit" buttons.
"Save" - This button saves the data and allows to to continue your work.
"Insert" - This button allows you to insert a new question at a specific location in
an existing list of questions.
"Delete" - This button allows you to delete this specific question and all information
related or linked to it.
"Jump" - This button calls SUBSCREEN 3B3, titled "Jump to
Question" and allows user
to select a specific question to jump to. Buttons are "OK" and "Cancel".
"Exit" - This button returns you to SCREEN 3 (without saving
your work) to select the
next type of question or to exit form it.
"Save and Exit" - This button returns you to SCREEN 3 (after saving your work) to
select the next type of question or to exit form it.
